Dorothy "Dot" (Toomey) Loftus, 82, longtime resident of Mercury Circle in Liverpool, died Wednesday at Crouse Hospital.  Dot was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx where she graduated from Cathedral High School.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Flahive) Toomey.

            Dot retired in 1986 after 37 years as an underwriting supervisor for NY Life Insurance Company in New York City.  She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale and served as a Eucharistic Minister. 

            She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Loftus, in 1995 and by two brothers, Thomas and Daniel Toomey. 

Surviving are her two step-daughters: Lynne Clifton and Leslie O'Grady;  three siblings: Nora Toomey, with whom she resided, Mary (Tracy) Merrill of Brewerton, and John Toomey of Mattydale; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Buffy. 

            Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale.   A Prayer Service will begin on Saturday, 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church.  Entombment will be in Assumption Mausoleum, Syracuse.

Maryann, Nessa, Bille and Aunt Nora, We all remember that beautiful smile and twinkle in Aunt Dot's eyes. She was a wonderful lady and was so kind and loving to all that she knew.
