Elmer "Al" Chappell, 90 passed
away Friday at his home. He resided in Mattydale for 20 years before moving to
North Syracuse in 1976.
Al retired in 1987 after 24 years
with Edlund Manufacturing, Fayetteville as a machinist. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's
Church and volunteered on it's bingo team.
He was a caring soul who loved his family, country, nature and being in the
woods. Years ago he was an avid hunter and craftsman in woodworking.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, the former Helen Six, a daughter, Donna (Mel Kopp) Chappell of MD and a son, Gary (Donna) Chappell of Liverpool; two step-daughters:Cathy (Robert) Dembowski of North Syracuse, Maryanne (John) Fritzen of Liverpool; a sister, Aletha Holderman of CA; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

may call on Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd.,
Mattydale. A prayer service will be 9:30
am Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am
at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
